Biography
Dr. N. W. Nawarathne has been a senior lecturer (Contract) since July 2026 at the Department of Bioprocess Technology, Faculty of Technology, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL). She graduated from the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) degree in 2018, achieving a Second Class Upper Division pass.
Later in 2019, she was offered a scholarship for a postgraduate program in Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, Thailand, and completed her PhD in 2025. Her PhD research career was associated with the identification and characterization of novel molecular targets for antibiotic development via studying the mechanisms of environmental stress responses in pathogenic bacteria.
