📜Biography
Mr. Y.M.S. Aravinda currently serves as a Temporary Demonstrator in the Department of Electrical & Electronic Technology, Faculty of Technology, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology Honours [BET (Hons)] in Electrical and Electronic Technology with Second Class Upper Division Honours from Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. He was also awarded the Gold Medal for Best Oral Presenter at the Undergraduate Research Symposium of Technology 2025 (URSoT 2025) held at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, in recognition of his excellence in academic presentations.
Since joining the department in November 2025, he has actively contributed to conducting laboratory practical sessions, evaluating student work, invigilating examinations, and providing academic support for undergraduate engineering technology courses in areas including automation, digital and analog electronics, circuit design, simulations, instrumentation, embedded system design, electrical installations, renewable energy, electronic devices and circuits, computer aided design and etc.
In addition to his university teaching involvement, Mr. Aravinda has served as a PLC Programming Demonstrator at the Sri Lanka Institute of Robotics (SLIR), where he conducted industrial-level practical training sessions for undergraduates and industry participants in industrial automation and PLC systems. He has also worked as a Kids Robotics Assistant Lecturer at Lyceum Campus and Lyceum International Schools, delivering robotics education using Arduino, Scratch, and Tinkercad platforms.
His research interests include industrial automation, intelligent engineering systems, renewable energy technologies, and smart control systems. He is also the author of the research publication titled “High-efficient Solar Panel System with Automated Water Distillation System,” presented at the International Conference on Innovation and Emerging Technologies 2024 (ICIET 2024) held at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
