The Department of Materials Technology, Faculty of Technology, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, produces graduates equipped with the scientific knowledge, technical skills, and professional mindset needed to succeed in the materials engineering and technology sector both in Sri Lanka and internationally.

Our graduates are trained to design, develop, test, and manage materials-based solutions across a wide range of industries, with a strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and real-world problem-solving.

Grounded in the core disciplines of Metallurgy, Polymers, Ceramics and Advanced Materials, our graduates exhibit strong communication, teamwork, and leadership qualities, along with a commitment to safety, sustainability, and lifelong learning positioning them to contribute meaningfully to national development and global industry.
