
The Faculty of Technology proudly congratulates Prof. Nalin N. WijayawardeneProf. Nalin N. WijayawardeneProf. Nalin N. Wijayawardene, currently serving as a Professor at Qujing Normal University, China, on receiving the prestigious Young Asian Mycologist Award at the Asian Mycological Congress (AMC).

The Asian Mycological Congress, organized by the Asian Mycological Association (AMA), was held from 23rd to 26th November in Guangzhou, China, and was hosted by Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, in collaboration with the Chinese Society of Mycology and the Asian Mycological Association.
The AMC is a leading biennial international scientific forum that brings together renowned researchers and emerging scientists in the field of mycology. The Young Asian Mycologist Award is presented in recognition of significant scientific achievements and impactful contributions to mycological research at an early career stage.
The Faculty of Technology is also pleased to acknowledge that Prof. Nalin N. Wijayawardene serves as an Adjunct Professor attached to the Faculty of Technology. Through this role, he contributes to the Faculty’s academic and research development by strengthening collaborative research initiatives, including:
- Staff–student mentoring
- Joint research publications
- Research supervision support
- International research networking in priority areas related to mycology and fungal research
