
The 1st International Conference on Microbes and Microbial Technologies (ICMMT 2025) was successfully held at the Faculty of Technology, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, on 27–28 October 2025. The conference served as a vibrant platform for academics, researchers, professionals, and students from across the globe to share innovative findings and discuss emerging trends in the field of microbial sciences and biotechnological applications.
This event was organized in collaboration with Qujing Normal University, People’s Republic of China, and the Tropical Microbiology Research Foundation, strengthening international academic partnerships and fostering collaborative research opportunities.

The conference covered a wide range of themes focusing on the role of microbes in health, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and industrial biotechnology. Through keynote speeches, oral and poster presentations, and panel discussions, participants explored how microbial technologies can contribute to sustainable development and address current global challenges such as food security, climate change, waste management, and public health concerns.
Participants from local and international institutions actively exchanged ideas, shared groundbreaking research outcomes, and developed networks aimed at promoting joint research initiatives and innovation in microbial technology.
