Workshop on Introduction to Statistical Analysis for Emerging Researchers

The 2nd RPC workshop of the year, “Introduction to Statistical Analysis for Emerging Researchers,” was successfully conducted at the Faculty of Technology, RUSL. The workshop aimed to equip early-career researchers and students with essential statistical knowledge and practical skills for effective data-driven research.

The session was led by Mr. P. Dias, Senior Lecturer (Grade I), Department of Statistics, Faculty of Applied Science, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and organized by the Coordinator of the Research and Publication Committee, Faculty of Technology. Participants gained a strong foundation in statistical thinking, learning to plan research effectively, interpret results accurately, and enhance the quality of their academic work.

Through interactive activities, participants could apply theoretical concepts to practical research scenarios. Feedback highlighted the workshop’s importance in strengthening research methodology and data analysis skills for early-career researchers and students.

One participant shared, “This workshop was highly valuable for understanding the statistical foundations necessary for my research planning and data interpretation.” Overall, the workshop successfully enhanced the research capabilities of attendees while promoting a culture of data-driven academic excellence at the Faculty of Technology.
