
The Association of Food Technology (AFRU), Faculty of Technology, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, has once again demonstrated its excellence in food innovation by securing two prestigious awards at the ProFood ProPack AgBiz Exhibition 2024. This annual event, organized by the Sri Lanka Food Processors Association (SLFPA), is the South Asia’s largest food, packaging, and agribusiness exhibition.
AFRU received the Winner—Most Commercially Viable Product award for its innovative Saucy Delight Sauce, a unique and flavorful sauce designed to enhance consumers’ convenience and taste. The product’s market potential and scalability were key factors in earning this recognition.
Additionally, AFRU was honored as the First Runner-Up – Green Innovation for its Eco-Sprout Plant Pot. This is an eco-friendly and sustainable solution that supports plant growth while minimizing environmental impact. This recognition highlights AFRU’s commitment to sustainability and green technology in food-related innovations.
These achievements underscore our undergraduates’ dedication, creativity, and technical expertise in advancing food technology and sustainability. The Faculty of Technology, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, takes immense pride in this success and congratulates the AFRU team for their outstanding contributions to the industry.
